The Tripura Publice Service Commission organizes government exams in the state of Tripura. Tripura state come into existence in 21st January,1972 and Tripura Public Service Commission came into existence in 30th October,1972.The Commission is, at present, located at the old Assembly House of Tripura, at Akhaura Road, Agartala.Public service commission has a very important role for the recruitment for the vacant posts.They have to play the role very efficiently and impartially so that no one can say about them that they have biased to some other candidates.The function of public service commission is to conduct examination for various recruitment for the state.
They make direct recruitment to the subordinate and ministerial services.When any vacant post releases in the department they have to fill in the post by conducting exams.They give advice to the government on rules and principles to be followed in making promotion and appointments.They also give advice related to transfers of the employee. They give advice to the government on all disciplinary matters affecting a person serving under the government in a Civil capacity, including memorials or petitions relating to such matters.They make direct recruitment by conducting both competitive exams and personality test.The syllabus of examination are:
(1) English essay and precise writing.
(2) English composition.
(3) Bengali Composition and Translation or Alternative English.
(4) General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
(5) Personality Test.
